WoW runs flawlessly on 8.1, 8 GB of RAM and a freaking four year old PC. I've given you options to help with 8 if you go that route. However, 7 is good for now but is old and outdated and mainstream support is ending next week.

Make sure you get at least Pro version of any OS you choose though. don't bother with 7 because it is an old and outdated operating system. Most people I hear complaining about Metro are older folks and those that refuse to even try it. People will complain about Metro but give it a few weeks and it's a lot easier than a start menu. I don't and it doesn't effect the way I use my PC at all. If you don't like Metro then don't use it. It doesn't matter if it's 7 or 8 right now.
You will get updates but it does effect support for 7 a little bit. End of mainstream support for Win 7 is next week. I've never tried Windows 8 before and it looks confusing.

I hovered my cursor over it and it said 64 bit OS (which I don't have), but I enabled it saw the detail, took off all of my mains' clothes and typed /dance, the happiest I have been so far. Today I was going in the Systems options to turn on V-Sync because I heard of the fps boost it gives, but at the bottom of Advanced Settings I found New Player Models disabled. But now when I got WoD I still noticed the same models. I was positive that I would get WoD for Christmas and I bragged to my friends saying that I was excited for the new models, than he asked if I already didn't see them, I said yes because to me they looked new.
